Tata H7X 7-seater SUV is likely to be based on the re-worked OMEGA platform that underpins the Harrier.

Speculations were on rife that Tata will unveil the 7-seater Harrier – codenamed H7X at the 2020 Auto Expo. The report further claims that the 7-seater Harrier will be one of 3 major Tata launches scheduled in 2019.

The much-awaited Tata Harrier is scheduled to be launched in January 2019. This model will be followed by a premium hatchback – codenamed 45X in mid-2019. The SUV will be powered by the same Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre MJD diesel engine, which Tata called KRYOTEC. While powering Harrier, this engine produces 138bhp and 350Nm of torque. The H7X will receive the more powerful version of the engine, which is likely to offer 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque.

The Tata Harrier is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 13 lakh – Rs 18 lakh. It is expected that the H7X will cost around Rs 16 lakh to Rs 21 lakh. Upon its launch, the SUV will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming MG SUV.
