Car manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Kia are ready to roll out four SUVs in the next 3-4 months. All upcoming models will go on sale by August 2023. Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx compact crossover will hit roads in coming weeks, while the Jimny 5-door will witness a release in May 2023. The updated Tata Nexon and Kia Seltos will also arrive by mid 2023. Upcoming New SUVs
Maruti Fronx
Maruti Suzuki Fronx will be the first major product launch from the Indo-Japanese automaker this year. The compact crossover will come in 5 trims and 2 petrol engines – 100bhp, 1.0L turbo and 190bhp, .2L naturally aspirated. There will be two automatic and one manual gearbox options. The top-end Alpha trim gets some exclusive features such as a 360 degree camera, leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, HUD unit, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and dual-tone colour schemes. Maruti Jimny
The long wait for the 5-door Maruti Jimny will go over next month (i.e. May 2023). It will be offered in just two trims – Zeta and Alpha – powered by a 1.5L K15B petrol engine. The gasoline unit, with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, delivers power worth 105bhp and 134Nm of torque. The SUV has Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system with a manual transfer case and a low range gearbox with ‘2WD-high’, ‘4WD-high’ and ‘4WD-low’ modes. Tata Nexon Facelift
The heavily updated Tata Nexon is reported to hit roads in August 2023. This time around, the exterior and interior of the compact SUV will be inspired by the Curvv concept. It will receive a new two-spoke steering wheel, purple seats, a larger infotainment system, a new digital instrument cluster and a new touch panel and toggle switches. The new 2023 Tata Nexon facelift could also be offered with a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine making power worth 125bhp and 225Nm of torque. Kia Seltos Facelift
The new 2023 Kia Seltos facelift is likely to see a release in the month of July. The SUV will come with a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine that’s good for 160bhp. It can also be had with either a 115bhp, 1.5L petrol or 115bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel engine. The new Seltos will be high on safety with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) tech. The feature list will also include a panoramic sunroof, a surround view monitor, navigation-based smart cruise control, remote smart parking assist, highway driving assistance and automatic high beams.
