The Tata Nexon has been one of the best-selling SUVs in the Indian market. In order to further improve sales, the homegrown automaker is all set to introduce the new 2023 Tata Nexon in the country. In fact, the updated model has been spotted testing several times on the Indian roads. A latest set of images gives us a glimpse of the interior design of the new Nexon. Sharper Styling
The spy images suggest that the new Nexon facelift will share design cues from the Tata Curvv concept, which was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new model will retain the overall shape; however, it will have a newly designed front and rear profile. The front fascia of the new Nexon will have a twin-part grille with diamond-shaped inserts in the lower half. It will have a full-width LED light bar that runs above the grille, and connects both headlamps. It will have a much flatter nose and a newly designed headlamp, which is now positioned on the lower bumper.
The side profile of the new Nexon will retain the current styling; however, the SUV could receive newly styled alloys. At the back, the SUV will have newly styled tail-lamps with a connected LED light bar. It is also expected to feature dynamic turn signals as well. The new Nexon will have a new flatter tailgate and new rear bumper.
Curvv-Inspired Interior
The latest spy images reveal that the cabin of the 2023 Tata Nexon will be heavily inspired from the Curvv SUV Coupe. The SUV will have an all-new dashboard and new central console layout. It features a new two-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel, which is identical to the one offered on the Curvv concept. There are toggle switches at either end of the steering along with touch-sensitive haptic buttons.
The SUV also gets a touch panel and toggle switches for the HVAC control, which appears identical to the Curvv concept. Tata will most likely add more premium materials with better fit and finish in the new Nexon. The SUV also gets a new purple upholstery for the seats.
More Features
In terms of features, the SUV will come with a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, a new digital instrument console, a drive mode selector, a 360 degree camera, a multi-functional steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, wireless charger, etc. The SUV could also receive some of the advanced driver assistance system.
More Powerful Engine
The 2023 Tata Nexon will be powered by an all-new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that was previewed with the Curvv ICE concept. This engine is capable of producing 125PS and 225Nm, which is 5PS and 55Nm more than the outgoing 1.2L turbo unit. The diesel version gets the same 115bhp, 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo unit. It is early to comment whether the new Nexon will get the automatic gearbox. However, the company could offer the dual-clutch automatic gearbox with the new Nexon.
Launch Timeline
The new Nexon is reportedly to enter the production line by July 2023. The company aims to produce around 15000 units of the new Nexon and close to 5000 units of the Nexon EV per month. It is expected to be launched sometime in August 2023. It will rival the likes of the Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and others.
