The new 2023 Kia Seltos facelift first broke cover in June 2022 with minor changes and feature upgrades. While the company hasn’t yet revealed its India launch plan, a test mule of SUV was recently caught on camera in Hyderabad. The spotted model was semi-camouflaged featuring revised taillamps connected via a LED light bar and a pronounced rear bumper. Design changes of the new Seltos seem inspired by the new Sportage and Telluride SUVs that retailed in global markets.
Upfront, the facelifted version features a new grille and headlamps with angular signatures, LED DRLs extending into the grille, a prominent air dam surrounded by a faux aluminium skid plate and “ice cube” foglamps. The side profile has been revised with a new set of alloy wheels. The SUV also has a panoramic sunroof. Buyers will get three new exterior colour options, namely, Valais Green, Pluton Blue and Fusion Black.
In terms of features, the major upgrade is the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite offering features such as autonomous emergency braking, blind spot collision warning, lane departure warning and steering assist, speed limit assist and warning. While its dashboard design looks similar to the current model, it has a curved screen. Talking about the powertrains, the updated Seltos will feature a new 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine making 158bhp and 260Nm. The new gasoline unit will come as a replacement to the existing 1.4L turbo petrol motor. The model lineup will also be available with the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options. Transmission options on offer will include the same 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque convertor automatic and 7-speed DCT automatic units.
