We informed you earlier that Renault will be bringing its future electric cars and concepts at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The company has already started testing the Zoe electric car in India, which is also scheduled to make its public debut at the auto event in February. Now, the French automaker has announced that it will unveil the Renault Trezor electric autonomous car concept at the 14th edition of Asia’s biggest automotive event.
First unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the Renault Trezor electric high-performance two-seater GT concept will preview the company’s future design language. This electric car concept is powered by a Formula-E sourced 350bhp electric motor that transmits power to the rear wheels. It will only be a show car and will influence the design of future Renault’s high-end cars.
Renault Trezor Electric Car Launch
It was first unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and has already been displayed to various platforms across globe. This model won’t enter into production line and will only form the basis for future Renault’s high-end performance cars. In India, this autonomous GT concept will make its official debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo.
Renault Trezor Electric Car Specifications
The Trezor is a fully electric concept, which is equipped with Formula E-Sourced 350bhp electric motor that produces a peak torque of 300Nm. This model is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in less than 4 seconds. Just like in Formula E, the Trezor features RESS (Rechargeable Energy Storage System) technology, which enables it to recover energy during braking. The model features 2 batteries, one at the front and one at the back. Renault Trezor Exterior
The Trezor concept previews the company’s future design philosophy. It looks like a more matured and futuristic than the DEZIR concept. The vehicle comes with carbon bodywork and contrasting surfaces along with smooth satin finish at the front that gives it a premium appeal. On the bonnet, the electric car has a honeycomb-shaped air inlet. At the rear, the hexagonal facets give it a sporty and high-tech character. Instead of fuel flap, the vehicle gets an analogue gauge that indicates its charge level. Adding to it, the rear has fibre optic signature lighting that incorporates a red laser light. In terms of proportions, the Trezor is 4,700mm in length, 1,080mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,776mm with short overhangs. The Renault Trezor concept rides on 21-inch wheels in front and 22-inches wheels at the rear. The wheels also come equipped with carbon-fibre scoops to control brake temperature. Renault Trezor Interior
The Trezor electric car concept comes equipped with premium, red-coloured interior, which uses wood and leather materials. This model comes with a red wooden dashboard that has a luggage compartment. The instrumentation is screen based, which comprises of two large displays on the dashboard and three small displays on the rectangular steering wheel. Like the Formula-E cars, the Trezor comes with equipped with bucket seats that are wrapped in leather. It also has a wooden-framed luggage compartment that is good for two suitcases. This concept gets a single-frame canopy that lifts up vertically. The Trezor concept also offers 3 driving modes – neutral, sport and self-drive.
