Over 70,700 Royal Enfield Bikes Sold In Nov; 37% YoY Growth

In November 2022, Royal Enfield managed to sell 70,766 motorcycles as against 51,654 units during the same month last year. It registered a YoY growth of 37%. The aforementioned figure includes both domestic sales and exports. The company witnessed a MoM sales decline of 13.95% as it retailed 82,235 units in October 2022. The exports declined 12.3% from 5,707 units.

Commenting on the sales performance, B Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield, said that the RE bikes continue to generate volume post the festive season. The company will expand its product portfolio with the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 that made its debut at EICMA in Italy and Rider Mania in Goa. He further said that the upcoming Super Meteor 650 has been receiving great initial response from global consumers. Therefore, the company believes it will “create a strong niche in the global cruiser market”.

Talking about the upcoming Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, the new cruiser is ready to go on sale in early 2023. The bike will be made available in two variants – Standard and Tourer – powered by the 648cc, air/oil-cooled parallel twin engine. The motor, which is borrowed from the RE Interceptor and Continental GT 650, returns power worth 47bh and 52Nm of torque. It has bespoke mapping and gearing. It will be the brand’s first model to be equipped with Showa 43mm USD fork suspension. The bike will have front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS.

The Chennai-based bikemaker has been working on multiple new models including two new 350cc bikes, five 450cc bikes and six 650cc bikes. RE’s new 650cc range is likely to include the Bullet 650 that will share its platform and engine with the RE 650cc twins. The company has also started working on its first electric bike that’s likely to hit roads in coming years. Royal Enfield EV range will also include electric iteration of the Himalayan that’s reported to unveil in its concept form in 2025 or 2026.
