Royal Enfield is planning to launch five new bikes featuring a 450cc liquid-cooled engine. The information comes from a leaked document presented during an investors’ meet. As of now, there is no official information on the upcoming new Royal Enfield 450cc bikes. Though, we have seen the test mules of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 off-road motorcycle multiple times. It’s likely to be the first new RE 450cc bike to hit roads (possibly by mid 2023).
The Royal Enfield Scram 450 has also been spotted during its test rounds in the country. Its test mule was equipped with the telescopic fork instead of the USD unit at the front. The bike had 17-inch alloy wheels at front and rear and a single-piece saddle seat. The model missed on the windshield, side braces and the raised fender.
Talking about the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450cc, the bike will share most of its design bits with its 400cc sibling. Though, the bike will have a differently designed fuel tank, front beak, side panels and exhaust. The spy images reveal that the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will have step-up split seats borrowed from the Himalayan 400cc. Its ride ergonomics and position of footpegs and handlebar will also be similar to its younger sibling.
The bike will ride on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. No changes are likely to be made to its dimensions. In terms of features, the RE Himalayan 450 will have a digital analog instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle and tripper navigation system.
As mentioned above, all the upcoming new Royal Enfield 450cc bikes will source power from the 450cc engine that’s good enough for 40bhp and 45Nm. The bike will use a 5-speed gearbox for performing transmission duties. Its suspension setup will include the USD forks at the front and monoshock at the rear. It will be equipped with the front and rear disc brakes along with the dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).
