Over 50,000 Maruti Suzuki Ignis Facelift Booked So Far
2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis facelift had its first public appearance at this year’s Auto Expo, followed by its launch. The mini SUV range is spread across four trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha – priced from Rs 4.89 lakh to Rs 7.20 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Compared to its old model, the updated one is around Rs 6,000 more expensive.
Speaking to a media publication, Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director – Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India has revealed that the company has received over 50,000 bookings for the Ignis facelift so far. In fact, it’s said to be perform better in terms of sales than the pre-facelift model. The mini SUV has been receiving overwhelming response in overseas markets as well.
Design and styling of the 2020 Maruti Ignis isn’t very different from the previous model, especially from the side profile. It features a new grille resembling to unit fitted on the Jimmy and S-Presso. The small SUV also gets a new front bumper with a faux scuff plate and updated rear bumper. The carmaker has also introduced two new colour schemes – Turquoise Blue and Lucent Orange – along with the dual-tone shades – Nexa Blue with Silver, Nexa Blue with Black and Lucent Orange with Black. Under the hood, the updated Ignis features a BS6-compliant version of the old 1.2L, 4-cylinder K12 petrol engine. The motor is claimed to deliver power worth 83bhp against 113Nm of torque. The mini SUV can be had either with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT unit. Both engine-gearbox combinations offer a mileage of 20.89kmpl, which is equivalent to its BS4 version.
