Maruti Suzuki Ignis, the compact car from the Indo-Japanese carmaker, recently received its first mid-life updated in the country. The vehicle has witnessed subtle design changes and a few feature upgrades. Let’s find out what all has changed in the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis facelift compared to the old model.

1. Slightly Pricier

Prices of the updated Ignis are Rs 6,000 higher than the previous model. While the new model comes in the price range of Rs 4.89 lakh – Rs 7.20 lakh, the old version was priced from Rs 4.83 lakh to Rs 7.14 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

2. Revised Front Fascia

Major design changes have been made to its front fascia. The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis facelift features a newly-designed grille that looks similar to the S-Presso mini SUV. The front and rear bumpers have also been updated along with the faux scuff plate. The carmaker is also offered two customization options – Scorcher and Acropolis. 3. New Colours

The new Ignis facelift gets two new colour schemes – Turquoise Blue and Lucent Orange. Additionally, there are three new dual-tone colours – Nexa Blue with Silver, Nexa Blue with Black and Lucent Orange with Black.

4. Updated Interior

Inside, the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis facelift gets an upgraded 7.0-inch touchscreen Maruti’s latest SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, on-board navigation and voice command recognition. 5. BS6-Compliant Engine

Under the hood is the BS6-compliant version of the same 1.2L, 4-cylinder K12 petrol engine. No changes have been made to its power and torque figures. The gasoline unit continues to produce a peak power of 83bhp and a peak torque of 113Nm. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. Similar to the previous model, the BS6-compliant version returns a claimed fuel economy of 20.89kmpl.
