Nissan Kicks compact SUV prices will be announced in January 2019.

Japanese automaker, Nissan is trying hard to improve sales in the highly competitive Indian market. The company is planning to launch a range of new cars from global markets in the next 2 years. First model to go on sale is the Nissan Kicks compact SUV, which has also been released via a teaser. The Kicks compact SUV for Indian market will unveil on October 18, 2018. This model is likely to be launched in the Indian market in January, 2019.

The Nissan Kicks will look largely identical to the global model, but it will have some changes. While the model sold in abroad markets is based on Nissan’s V-platform, the India-spec model will sit on the Duster’s MO platform that also underpins the Nissan Terrano. It will be longer and bigger compared to the global-spec unit. The India-bound model is likely to sit around 4.4 meter in length, while the global unit is around 4.2 meter in length. This suggests that the Kicks for India will have better legroom and headroom space for both front and rear occupants.

The Nissan Kicks is a 5-seater SUV and will have modern interiors compared to the Terrano’s old-styled cabin. The feature-loaded interior will come equipped with a 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity features. The Nissan Kicks compact SUV will be powered by the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel and 1.5-litre petrol engines that also power the Terrano & Duster. While the diesel engine is good for 108bhp and 248Nm of torque, the gasoline unit produces 104bhp of power. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.
