New Hyundai Verna Bookings Cross 14,000 Mark

Next Gen Hyundai Verna 8

Hyundai will deliver the first 10,000 units of the new Verna before this Diwali.

Hyundai Cars India has high expectations from the new-generation Verna sedan, which was launched on August 22, 2017. And things appear to be going in favour of the company, as the saloon has received 14,000 bookings so far. In fact, the new Verna registered over 7,000 pre-orders with 70,000 customer enquiries within the first week of its arrival. The South Korean carmaker will deliver the first 10,000 units of the sedan to their respective buyers before the coming festive season (Diwali).

The new Verna was launched at an introductory price of Rs 7.99 lakh – Rs 12.61 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which will be applicable only for the first 20,000 customers. Due to the GST Council’s recent decision of cess hike on mid-size sedans by 2%, the Verna prices have gone up by up to Rs 26,000. Now, the high-spec trim of the sedan is available at Rs 12.87 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Check Out – New Verna Detailed Picture Gallery

Video Review

We have drove the new Verna and it’s a really more capable and premium product than its predecessor. The 2017 model sits on a new K2 platform, and continues to be designed on the Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 diesel philosophy. The car has grown up dimensionally, and its longer (65mm) and wider (29mm) than before. Featuring a 30mm longer wheelbase, the sedan offers more cabin space to occupants. The luggage area has also been increased by 16-litres.

Exterior design and styling has been revised with new Elantra-inspired projector headlamps with LED DRLs, re-designed bumper, new bonnet, pentagonal LED fog lamps, a new integrated roof spoiler and LED turn indicators. The blacked-out C-pillar, chrome door handles and a sloping roofline add more to its new look. Read – New Hyundai Verna Vs Maruti Ciaz

The changes continue inside the cabin. The new Verna comes loaded with several advanced features such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link, reverse parking camera, leather wrapped steering wheel, leather upholstery, ABS with EBD, airbags, electric sunroof, electro chromic rear view mirror, etc. Though, the aforementioned features vary model-wise. Video Review – New Verna First Drive Report

Engine setup for the new Verna features includes a 1.6L VTVT 1.6L VTVT petrol and a 1.6L U2 CRDi diesel. While the gasoline unit makes a top power of 121bhp and 155Nm, the oil burner generates a maximum power output of 126bhp against 260Nm of torque. The sedan can be brought either with a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic gearbox.
