New Tata 7-Seater MPV (Ertiga Rival) Might Look Like This
We have reported earlier that Tata Motors might use its Alfa (Agile, Light, Flexible and Advanced) platform for its new sedan, SUV and MPV. It’s the same architecture that underpins the Tata Altroz premium hatchback. The Alfa platform isn’t only compatible to different body styles, but capable to accommodate pure electric and hybrid powertrains as well. It has been developed with aim to create maximum utility space around the driver, rear legroom and luggage area.
As mentioned above, the home-grown carmaker is working on an all-new MPV that will share its platform with the Altroz hatch. While it will take a good 2-3 years to hit our roads, a digital rendering gives us a fair idea what it might look like.
Similar to the Altroz, the new Tata MPV carries the brand’s Impact 2.0 design philosophy. The front end of the MPV shares resemblance to the Tata 45X concept that had its India debut at the Auto Expo in 2018. It sports bold stance with slim headlamps and a well-defined ‘humanity line’ connecting the lights and the front grille. The fog lamp assembly looks similar to the 45X hatchback concept. One of its interesting details is the bold ridge on the side flowing down from the A-pillar and bending back upward. The darkened windows with upswept styling elements, pronounced wheel arches and skirts at the base of the doors enhance its side profile.
Interior of the new Tata MPV is a bit of a mystery. Though, its interior layout and most of its features are likely to be carried over from the Altroz hatchback. Compared to its donor sibling, the new MPV from Tata will sit on a longer wheelbase. Check Out – Evoque and Ford Inspired Rendered Next-gen Tata Sumo
It would be quite early to comment on its powertrains. Though, the MPV is reported to come with the 86bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol and 90bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel engine options, borrowed from the Altroz hatchback. Transmission choices might include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
