Next-gen Tata Sumo Rendered – Inspired by Evoque and Ford

Next Sumo Rendered

It is no secret that Tata Sumo has been one of the most popular people movers in India. The SUV was discontinued last year. It was available in multiple engine options and seating configurations, which make it hugely popular among rural and semi-urban markets. While Tata has no immediate plans to re-introduce the next-gen Sumo, a set of digitally imagined pictures of the next model have been surfaced online.

Youtube user – Motorwala has imagined the next-gen Tata Sumo, which shares styling cues from the Range Rover Evoque and the popular global Ford SUVs including Explorer. Unlike previous boxy old-schooled SUV design, the rendering has more modern SUV design with LED headlamps, dual-tone body and curved roof.

Featuring upright stance, the next-gen Sumo rendering has wide and straight bonnet line, a massive honeycomb grille and horizontally placed headlamps with LED DRLs. There are large LED blocks with air-vents placed in the centre and on the lower bumper. The front looks similar to that of the new-gen Ford Explorer, which is on sale in several international markets. The side and rear profile of the digital rendering is directly sourced from the Range Rover Evoque.

Tata Motors is aiming to launch at least 13 new cars in the Indian market over the period of next 3-4 years. The company has showcased the new-gen Sierra concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. The concept could enter into production with petrol and diesel engine fuel options. The company is also readying an all-new SUV Coupe and an all-new MPV for the Indian market.

It will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque.
