New Mercedes-Benz GLA India Launch in October – Report
Likely to be launched in October 2020, the new Mercedes-Benz GLA is rumoured to be priced at Rs 43 lakh (ex-showroom).
The second-gen Mercedes-Benz GLA is rumoured to be launched in the Indian market in October 2020; however, the German automaker is yet to make an official announcement. The report further claims that the new GLA is likely to be priced at Rs 43 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Mercedes-Benz had showcased the new GLA at the 2020 Auto Expo. In fact, official bookings for the SUV have already been opened at a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. The new model features the brand’s new latest design language, though it retains the crossover-ish silhouette. In the second-gen, the new GLA rides on 30mm longer wheelbase. It is 10mm taller and offers more headroom, and the track width has been increased by 46mm. The overall length, width and height of the SUV stand at 4410mm, 2020mm and 1611mm respectively.
The new-gen Mercedes-Benz GLA comes with revised styling, which is more premium and appealing. It has redesigned LED Headlamps and a new front bumper. At the back, the new GLA comes with newly designed dual-tone bumper with twin exhausts and new tail-lights. Design highlights include diamond-pattern grille with a chrome slat, sculpted lines on the bonnet and sides and squared wheel arches.
The cabin of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLA has also been improved with more features and premium design elements. It comes with a new single-panel digital display for the instrument console, and new MBUX infotainment system with dedicated touchpads and voice command function. The 64 ambient lightings will be offered as standard across the SUV lineup. The SUV also gets the cornering and emergency lane functions along with radars and the sensors to detect pedestrian crossing, an exit warning function and brake assist.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLA is likely to be offered with BSVI compliant petrol and diesel engine options. The company could also introduce the performance-oriented AMG version of the GLA.
