We informed you earlier that Honda will launch the new-generation CR-V 7-seater and new Civic sedan in India before the end of this financial year. The company will first launch the CR-V, followed by new Civic in the first quarter of 2019. According to AutoCarIndia, the new Honda CR-V 7-seater diesel model will go on sale in India sometime in October, 2018.C
This time, the Honda CR-V comes with all-new design, spacious cabin to accommodate 7 adults and will also come with a diesel option. Report further suggests that the India-spec model will receive the less powerful version of the 1.6-litre diesel engine. In India, the CR-V will get a lower-powered, single-turbo unit that produces 120bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. The company opted for this engine to keep costs down. However, Honda claims that the lowered-powered version has been tuned to deliver real-world performance. This engine will have excellent low and mid-range performance. The Honda CR-V for India, is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in 11.2 seconds, which is quite impressive. The global-spec model achieves 0-100kmph in mere 9.7 seconds. The production of the new diesel engine is already started at Honda’s Tapukara based plant in Rajasthan. This engine will also power the upcoming Civic sedan. The new CR-V is based on the new-generation modular Civic platform. It measures 4,571mm in length, 1,885mm in width and 1,667mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,662mm.
