We have reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki is planning to expand its UV (Utility Vehicle) portfolio in coming years. The Indo-Japanese carmaker has planned 6 new models that will arrive by 2023. The first model is likely to be a new mid-size MPV co-developed by Suzuki and Toyota. It might hit roads sometime next year. The plan also outlines the new-generation Maruti Vitara Brezza subcompact SUV that’s reported to come in the first half of 2022. As of now, details of the 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza are not available. Though, here’re the top 5 things that we expect.
1. New Platform
The new-generation Vitara Brezza might ditch the existing platform for Toyota’s DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) that will also be used for the new mid-sized SUV. The DNGA architecture is said to be designed for “creating small cars that pursues fuel efficiency, affordable pricing and safety”.
2. Improved Design
The carmaker might also make significant changes to its design and styling. We expect it to get slightly more aggressive front fascia with updated grille, new headlamps and DRLs. Major changes might also be made to its side and rear profile. Read – Maruti Suzuki’s Tata Nexon Rival Under Development
3. More Features
The new 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza is likely to come with the next-generation infotainment system. The compact SUV might get advanced connected car technologies, a digital instrument cluster and new comfort goodies. The carmaker might also equip the new-generation Vitara Brezza with wireless phone charging system.
4. Advanced Safety Features
We expect that the new-generation Vitara Brezza offer some advanced safety fitments including an ADAS package. At present, the company SUV gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, front seatbelt pretensioner, Isofix child seat mounts and remote central locking as standard safety features. 5. 48V SHVS System
Maruti Suzuki might also introduce Suzuki’s new mild-hybrid system to the new Vitara Brezza model lineup. The 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza might come with the 48V SHVS system, which is more powerful and efficient than the 12V unit. If it happens, the compact SUV’s new model will offer more fuel economy than the existing one.
