Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler maker has rolled out the updated Hero Splendor Pro 2017 in the Indian market. Besides Splendor Pro, the company has also introduced the 2017 Passion Pro, Glamour and HF Deluxe in India. The bike is now equipped with always-on headlamp and a BSIV compliant engine. These features have been added to meet the new norms from the Government. The new model prices fall in the range of Rs 47,505 to Rs 51,235 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Splendor Pro 2017 is powered by the same 97.2cc single-cylinder engine, which is now BSIV compliant. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 8.25bhp and a peak torque of 8.05Nm. The Splendor Pro is available in five variants – kick start drum brake alloy, kick start drum brake spoke, self-start drum brake alloy, selft start drum brake spoke and self-start drum brake black alloy wheels. The new Splendor Pro is powered by the same 97.2cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke single-cylinder OHC engine. This BS4 compliant engine is capable of producing a top power output of 8.36bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 8.05Nm at 5,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. This motorcycle is claimed to have a top speed of 87kmph.
Equipped with 97.2cc single-cylinder engine, the Splendor Pro is claimed to be one of the most fuel efficient commuters in India. The bike is claimed to have a fuel efficiency of around 90kmpl.
Talking about styling, the new Splendor Pro is equipped with new square-shape headlamps and new headlight cowl. On sides, this commuter has new body panels. The current model gets a modified fuel tank, which is now sleeker. At the back, the motorcycle gets a newly styled tail. Features like grab rails and silencer cover have been directly lifted from other Hero bikes. It misses out on steel luggage mounting point, which is now common in new breed of Hero motorcycles. There is a differently styled fuel knob with plastic cladding surround. The boxy turn indicators, alloy wheels and suspension covers remain unchanged.
The new motorcycle gets electric start, clear lens indicator, new visor, new graphics and fuel tank. Other changes include new instrument cluster with a side stand indicator, body coloured mirrors and new wider grab rail. The new Splendor Pro is available in eight colors – Black Purple, Heavy Grey, Cloud Silver, Candy Blazing Red, Palace Maroon, Black Monotone, Shield Gold and Black Red.
