Price of the Hero Xtreme 200S is likely to be around Rs 90,000 – Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

In a bid to further improve its market share, Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch three new products in the country by the end of this fiscal. The first model to go on sale will be the company’s next 125cc premium scooter, while the other two models are 110cc Passion and the long-awaited Hero Xtreme 200S. Just to jog your memory, the all-new Hero Xtreme 200S had its India debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. With this motorcycle, Hero will re-enter into the growing 200-250cc segment. If media reports are to be believed, the production-ready model will be unveiled in December and the design of the motorcycle is likely to remain true to its concept.
It is expected that the production-ready model could feature some evolved design elements that makes it look sportier than the model that we have seen at the biennial event in 2016. The naked motorcycle gets multiple aggressive styling bits such as edgy headlamp, and sculpted fuel tank with aerodynamic shrouds. Based on diamond type frame, the new Hero bike is equipped with an air-cooled, single-cylinder 200cc engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 18.5bhp and 17.2Nm of torque. The bike comes equipped with disc brakes at both the ends. Hero might also offer an optional ABS (anti-lock braking system) on the vehicle. Though the company hasn’t yet revealed launch date and details of the bike, speculations suggest that the production ready model of the Xtreme 200S could be shown in December, 2017. The official launch of the bike could take place at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, which is scheduled to happen from 8th to 11th February.
Speaking to media, Mr Pawan Munjal, Chairman & MD, Hero Group said that Hero MotoCorp has rolled out three new products across different segment since the last Auto Expo. And the company plans to bring in products like Xtreme 200S and Hero HX250R to have a significant share in the premium motorcycle category.

According to Hero MotoCorp, the new Hero Xtreme 200S features ‘Cheetah’-inspired design that will appeal young enthusiasts in India. This naked streetfighter sits on the strong diamond type chassis, and looks quite aggressive and sporty. The bike features air vents in front cowl, belly-pan and tank-shroud that improve engine’s cooling and performance. Other key highlights include a mono halogen headlamp with twin LED pilot lights, LED tail lamp, dual tone seat, colored inner mud guard at the rear tyre and a contrast-colored front mud guard. The bike also gets an analog-digital instrument console. It is expected that the production model will look largely identical to the concept. Though, Hero might make some changes to make it sportier.
This entry-level bike runs on the multi-spoke 17-inch wheels. With an aim to harmonious synergy between body and mechanical elements, the bikemaker has added a vertical flow towards its rear and weight at the front.
Dimensions – the new 200cc naked streetfighter is 2,100mm, 780mm and 1,80mm in length, width and height, respectively. The motorcycle sits on a 1,325mm wheelbase, while the ground clearance stands at 163mm. It comes with a seat height of 800mm and has a kerb weight of 148kgs.

This naked streefighter is propelled by an all-new 200cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The engine is fitted to a diamond frame chassis, which has been modified to accommodate a monoshock suspension setup for shock absorption at the rear. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 18.5bhp at 8,500rpm, while generating a peak torque of 17.2Nm at 6,000rpm. Transmitting power to the rear wheel will be a 5-speed gearbox. Hero bikes are known for offering high fuel efficiency and its new 200cc sports motorcycle will not be an exception here. The new Hero 200cc bike could be benefited with the company’s new i3S technology, which will help it achieve high efficiency. It is expected to deliver a mileage around 45kmpl on city roads and 50kmpl on highways.

The exact details about the naked streetfighter are yet to be announced. The company aims to keep the kerb weight of the bike at lower end. Less kerb weight will help achieve greater power to weight ratio. The Xtreme 200 S is likely to have an electronic speed limit up to 130kmph.
The new Hero 200cc bike sources its braking power from the front and rear disc brakes. The Xterme 200S could also be Hero Motocorp’s first motorcycle to feature an optional ABS (anti-lock braking system). For performing damping duties, the bike gets telescopic forks and a monoshock unit at the front and rear axle respectively. The Xtreme 200 S will be the second Hero bike to get monoshock suspension unit, first is Hero Impulse.
