Most of the sedans are witnessing a year-over-year (YoY) and month-over-month (MoM) sales decline in the country. However, car manufacturers such as Skoda, Volkswagen, and Hyundai have recently rolled out new models in an effort to revive the segment. Over the next couple of years, there will be several additional new models introduced in the compact sedan, midsize sedan, and executive sedan categories. New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire
Maruti Suzuki will introduce generational updates to two of its popular models in 2024: the Swift hatchback and Dzire subcompact sedan. Both models are set to go on sale early next year. The 2024 Maruti Dzire is reported to be equipped with a 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine enhanced by Toyota’s Atkinson cycle hybrid technology. This strong hybrid powertrain is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of approximately 35kmpl-40kmpl. New-Gen Honda Amaze
The next-generation Honda Amaze is scheduled to arrive in 2024. It’s surely one of the much-anticipated upcoming new sedans here. This time, the subcompact sedan will undergo comprehensive changes both inside and out, including modifications to its platform. Some design elements may take inspiration from the new City sedan and Accord. One of the major upgrades will be the inclusion of an ADAS suite, offering features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, road departure warning, collision mitigation braking system, and automatic high beam assist. Hyundai Verna N Line
Speculations are rife that Hyundai will introduce a sportier N Line version of the new Verna sedan, although the launch timeline is yet to be revealed. Recently, a test mule was captured featuring red brake calipers, alloy wheels, and slightly darker taillight sections. The Hyundai Verna N Line will also sport a newly-designed front bumper with red accents, an N Line logo, a prominent diffuser, and twin exhaust pipes. The interior will also receive some sporty elements. The sedan’s N Line version will be powered by a 1.5L turbo petrol engine, mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox with paddle shifters. New-Gen Skoda Superb/Octavia RS
Skoda Auto has already revealed its plans to expand its sedan and SUV product portfolio in India, which will include the new-generation Skoda Superb and Octavia RS. While the company is currently conducting a feasibility study for the all-new Superb, the Octavia RS is still under consideration. The company claims that the new-generation Superb will “set standards in terms of comfort and space.” The official teaser reveals that the executive sedan will feature sleeker LED headlights and taillamps.
