Misubishi Xpander Cross Revealed With Rugged Design

2020 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross Design

Japanese automaker, Mitsubishi has officially revealed the Xpander Cross in the Indonesian market. This is basically the rugged version of the standard Xpander MPV. The new Cross will also go on sale in other ASEAN markets.

The overall profile and body panels of the Xpander Cross are similar to that of the Xpander MPV. However, it comes with significant changes to offer a fresh feel. The Cross gets new front bumper with a skid plate, which adds to its rugged profile. The Cross gets signature Mitsubishi grille, which is finished in black instead of the chrome in the MPV.

The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross also features new LED headlamps and LED foglamps. It gets black plastic cladding all around the body, new roof rails and a newly styled rear bumper with a faux skid plate. The Cross rides on newly designed 17-inch wheels with larger profile tyres. The cabin of the new Xpander Cross is finished in all-black scheme. High-end variants also get a dual-tone black and red interior scheme.

The Mitsubishi Xpander Cross has a ground clearance of 225mm, which is significantly 25mm more than the regular model. Adding to it, the width of the car has been increased by 50mm to offer more shoulder space for rear occupants. It will be produced at Mitsubishi’s Indonesia plant and will be exported to other ASEAN markets as well.

Powering the Xpander Cross is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that also powers the MPV sibling. This EURO IV-compliant 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine is capable of producing 105PS and 141Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.
