Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Bookings To Begin In November

Bajaj Chetak electric scooter made its debut on 16th October in Delhi. The two-wheeler maker flagged off the ‘Bajaj Chetak Electric Yatra’ on the same day that’s going to conclude tomorrow (14th November) in Pune. The scooter will be exclusively showcased to the media and the potential customers.

The home-grown two-wheeler manufacturer will launch the electric Chetak in a phased manner. It will be first made available in Pune, followed by Bengaluru and other cities. Bookings of the Bajaj Chetak electric are likely to begin in November, 2019. It’s estimated to cost around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).

With an aim to provide premium buying experience, Bajaj Auto will use the KTM showrooms to retail the new e-Chetak. The company will gradually upgrade its own outlets. Sporting a retro-design, the Bajaj Chetak electric will face challenge from scooters like Okinawa i-Praise and Ather 450.

For power, the new Bajaj Chetak electric will make use of an IP67 rated Lithium-ion battery. It will support the standard household 5-15 amp electrical outlet for charging. The company will provide a home charging stations at an additional cost. The scooter will offer two drive modes – Sport and Eco along with a reverse assist mode.

Some of its key features include all-LED headlamp with integrated DRLs, mirrors with a matte finish, multi-spoke alloys with red highlights, front disc and rear drum brakes, dashboard with a circular unit and touch switches.
