Hyundai Kona Rival – MG eZS SUV Production Starts in India
MG Motor has already announced to launch the eZS electric SUV in the country in December 2019.
The long-awaited MG Hector SUV is all set to go on sale in the country later this month. MG Motor has already announced to launch the eZS electric SUV in the country in December 2019. Interestingly, the production of the MG eZS electric SUV has already been started at the company’s Halol based plant. MG has also released a video, which confirms the start of production of the SUV.
The MG eZS is the electric version of the ZS compact SUV, which is on sale in China. The electric SUV was first unveiled at the Guangzhou Motor Show in 2018. This zero emission crossover will also go on sale in select international markets including UK, Southeast Asia, Germany, etc.
Design of the MG eZS looks largely identical to the ZS compact SUV. Some of the design highlights include chrome highlighted grille, sleek projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, wider air-dam, dual-tone wing mirrors, machined-cut alloy wheels, sloping roofline and LED tail-lights. Except for the new alloy wheel design, Blue highlights and a charging socket behind the front grille, the eZS looks exactly the same as the ZS compact SUV. The MG eZS electric SUV will be fitted with the company’s new iSMART Next-Gen technology, which debuted in the MG Hector SUV. While MG Motor is yet to reveal the exact specifications, it is expected that MG eZS could receive a 52.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a claimed range of over 400km. This battery pack is already in use in other cars sold by SAIC. The Chinese spec model gets a 150bhp electric motor packed with a li-ion battery. It is claimed to offer a range of 335km on a single charge as per NEDC cycle.
