The MG Hector will be offered in 4 variants – Style, Super, Smart and Sharp

MG Motor India is doing final preparations before launching the much-awaited MG Hector SUV. The company has also opened the pre-bookings for the 5-seater premium SUV at a token amount of Rs 50000. Additionally, the variant-wise features and details have also been revealed by the automaker. The MG Hector will be offered in 4 variants – Style, Super, Smart and Sharp – all of which are fairly well equipped.

The MG Hector Style entry-level variant won’t get the 10.4-inch touchscreen unit and the connected car applications. It will get the basic 2-din audio system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity. This variant gets dual front airbags, ESP, Traction Control, Hill Hold Control, ABS with EBD and Brake assist, rear disc brakes, rear parking sensors, rear defogger, speed sensing auto door lock, ISOFIX child seat anchors, speed warning alert, 3 point seatbelts and seatbelt reminder. The top-spec SHARP variant gets additional 360 around view mirror, heated ORVM, electric parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking camera, etc

Features like rear air-con vents, 3.5-inch MID, projector headlamps, rear seat recline, driver armrest with storage, driver height adjustable seat, electrically adjustable ORVMs, fast charging with 2A USB ports, etc will come as standard. The top-spec model comes with all LED lights including LED headlamps, LED tail-lamps, LED fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, dual-tone machined cut alloys, floating light turn indicators, chrome treatment, rear air-con on/off, remote sunroof open/close, 100 + Voice commands And Adaptive Learning, remote car light flashing & honking, Online navigation etc. Also See – MG Hector SUV explained in a video

The MG Hector also comes with several segment-leading features –

The MG Hector SUV will be offered with 2 engine options and one mild hybrid variant. The diesel version will get the Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre MJD engine that produces 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. The gasoline unit is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo unit that is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT automatic. This engine is capable of producing 141bhp of power and 250Nm. This hybrid version is around 12 per cent more fuel efficient than the regular petrol model. The 48V mild-hybrid system also provides additional 20Nm of torque at low-speeds to reduce turbo lag and improves driving experience in traffic situations. The Hector Hybrid also gets regenerative braking, which recharge the 48-volt battery using the vehicle’s kinetic energy. It also has an automatic engine stop-start system that will switch the engine off at idle speeds to save fuel.

The MG Hector Hybrid version is claimed to return an official fuel efficiency of 15.81kmpl. The regular petrol manual and petrol DCT offers 14.16kmpl and 13.96kmpl respectively. The Hybrid variant is around 1.7kmpl more frugal than the standard petrol MT version. The diesel model is claimed to return an ARAI fuel efficiency of 17.41kmpl.
