The Toyota Glanza hatchback comes in two trims – G and V.
Toyota’s first shared product with Maruti Suzuki – Glanza hatchback – has finally been launched in the country. The Toyota Glanza, which is essentially Maruti Suzuki Baleno, comes in two trims – G and V – priced between Rs 7.21 lakh and Rs 8.90 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Toyota is offering a 3-year/1,00,000km warranty as standard with the Glanza. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno, on the other hand, comes with a standard 2-year/40,000km warranty.

Maruti Suzuki’s Sanand plant serves as production hub for the new Glanza that already produces the Baleno. While the design, styling and engine mechanism of the new Toyota hatchback are exactly similar to the Baleno, it gets some elements that differentiate it. Inside, the Toyota Glanza gets a rebranded ‘Smart Playcast’ infotainment system with 7.0-inch touchscreen instead Maruti Suzuki’s SmartPlay unit. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone app along with voice command functionality, Aux, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. The Toyota Glanza has most of the comfort and safety features that are offered on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
The entry-level G trim comes with the standard dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, speed warning, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminder for the height adjustable seatbelts, Isofix child seat mounts and rear defogger, wiper, while the rear parking camera is available only on the V trim. Features such as automatic LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a follow-me-home function and leather wrapped steering wheel are also reserved for the V variant.
Engine options include the same 1.2L K12C petrol with a smart hybrid system and the 1.2L, K12C petrol that are offered on the Baleno. The former delivers power worth 83bhp with 113Nm of torque, the latter one makes 90bhp with 113Nm of torque. The hatchback lineup comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 7-step CVT gearbox options. While the Toyota Glanza G MT (with smart hybrid technology) promises fuel economy of 23.87kml and the CVT version delivers 19.56kmpl. The V MT trim returns a claimed mileage of 21.01kmpl.
