Maruti, Tata, Honda, Toyota CNG Cars Ready For Launch

The CNG cars were all-time high in demand in fiscal year 2021, thanks to the increasing petrol and diesel prices. These vehicles are eco-friendly and more affordable than the ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles. Considering the sales growth of the CNG segment, several automakers are planning to bring in CNG variants of their popular models including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Honda Cars India and Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

Tata Nexon 2021

The home-grown carmaker is currently testing the CNG version of the Tiago hatchback, Tigor sedan, Altroz premium hatchback and Nexon compact SUV. All four models will be offered with the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine paired to the CNG kit. Compared to their regular petrol counterparts, the upcoming CNG variants are expected to be priced around Rs 40,000 – Rs 50,000 premium. The new Tata CNG cars are reported to launch before the end of 2021.

2020 Maruti Dzire facelift Launch

Maruti Suzuki will soon introduce the CNG variants of the Swift hatchback, Dzire compact sedan and Vitara Brezza compact SUV. While the Swift and Dzire CNG are likely to arrive by the end of 2021, the Vitara Brezza CNG could be offered with the new-generation model. Powertrain system of the Maruti Swift and Dzire CNG will include the 1.2L Dualjet K12C petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit delivering power worth 70bhp. The Maruti Vitara Brezza CNG will come with 1.5L K15B petrol and a factory-fitted CNG kit, offering 91bhp.

The Honda Amaze CNG, which was recently spotted testing, is likely to be offered with a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine and a CNG kit. Its power figure might vary from the standard petrol version. It’s expected to be launched in coming months.

The Japanese automaker is testing the Toyota Innova Crysta CNG model in the country. It’s likely to come with the 2.7L petrol engine and a factory-fitted CNG kit. For performing transmission duties, the model will have a 5-speed manual gearbox. It might hit roads in coming months.
