Maruti Suzuki Working On Next-Gen Brezza, Swift, Baleno & Alto

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of the next-gen Celerio tall-boy hatchback, which has been caught multiple times on the Indian roads. The company is also working on a new mid-sized SUV, which will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Adding to it, Maruti Suzuki will launch new generation models of the Vitara Brezza, Swift, Baleno and the Alto.

Maruti Suzuki will introduce the next-gen Vitara Brezza compact SUV in the third quarter of 2021, before Diwali. The new model will retain the rugged, squared-off and upright stance, while the cabin will continue to offer comfortable space for 5 adults. The new Brezza will be based on the Suzuki’s lightweight HEARTECT platform, which also underpins the Ertiga and the Baleno. The SUV will be benefitted with several new systems including connected car tech and advanced safety systems.

New Maruti Vitara Brezza Accessories

The new Brezza will be powered by the BS6-compliant 1.5-litre K15B, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a stronger mild-hybrid system. In the current form, this engine produces 104bhp and 138Nm of torque. The new Brezza could also receive a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine; however, MSIL is yet to make an official announcement.

MSIL is also readying the new-gen Alto 800, which is likely to launched by the end of 2021 or early 2022. Like the S-Presso and the WagonR, the new Alto is likely to be based on the new HEARTECT platform. It is likely to receive all-new design and better equipped cabin. It is likely to be powered by the 796cc naturally-aspirated petrol engine delivering 48bhp and 69Nm. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer.

2022 Maruti Swift Rendered

According to the Japanese media, Suzuki will introduce the new-gen Swift hatchback in July 2022. The new model will be based on the new platform, which is basically the advanced version of the existing HEARTECT architecture. The new platform is reportedly to be designed with ultra & advanced high strength steels. It is likely to receive hybrid powertrain with a 1.2L petrol engine.

Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki is also reportedly working on the new Baleno hatchback. The existing model is already six years old. The new model is expected to be launched in the end of 2021 or early 2022. The hatchback will receive a 1.2L petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options.
