Made-in-India 2021 Jeep Wrangler Bookings Open

Jeep India has started accepting pre-bookings for the new Wrangler SUV in the country. The new model will be brought to India as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit and then assembled at the company’s Ranjangaon based facility near Pune in Maharashtra. Official prices of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler are slated to announce on coming 15th March. The Made-in-India model will surely be much cheaper than the outgoing CBU version that costs Rs 68.94 lakh (ex-showroom).

Recently, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler was caught on camera revealing its exterior and interior details. The SUV’s new model will have a newly-designed dashboard with an integrated UConnect 4C 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and come with navigation system.

Some of its other key features will include dual-zone automatic climate control, premium leather upholstery with contrasting white stitching, passive keyless entry, push-button start and more. For power, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler will use a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor pushing out a peak power of 268bhp at 5250rpm and 400Nm of torque at 3000rpm. Transmission duties will be done by a new 8-speed automatic gearbox. The new Wrangler will come with a new Selec-Trac full-time 4WD drive system that works in tandem with sensors measuring traction slip.

After the new Wrangler, the American carmaker will bring in the Jeep H6 7-seater SUV that’s report to make its debut in late 2021. The new bigger SUV will share its platform, components and engine with the Compass. It will be come with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder Multijet turbo diesel motor that will be calibrated to produce power around 200bhp. The company also aims to foray into the sub-compact SUV space sometime next year. The model might use Citroen’s 1.2L turbo petrol engine delivering power close to 130bhp.
