With the S-Cross SX4, Maruti Suzuki will make its entry into the growing mid-sized crossover-SUV segment in India. The vehicle is expected to get a series of changes before making its debut in the Indian market. The S-Cross has a crossover styling than upright SUV. However, the company has given all the off-roading bits to it such as high ground clearance, black plastic cladding all around and metal scuff plate under the bumper at the front and rear. If media reports to believe, the company will also introduce the ‘Allgrip’ all-wheel drive system with the S-Cross.

The top-of-the-line Maruti S-Cross SX4 is likely to get the LED daytime running lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels and leather seats. However, the interior detailing of the crossover will be shared with the other Maruti cars including dual-tone theme, Air-Con vents, steering wheel with music controls mounted on it, and other features.

The Maruti S-Cross SX4 will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. While the diesel version will get the Fiat’s sourced 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel mill that produces 118bhp and a peak torque of 320Nm, the petrol model is expected to get the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 120bhp and 156Nm of torque. Both the engines will be paired to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox.
