India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki will soon launch the much-awaited Ciaz sedan aka Alivio in the country soon. The company has already stopped the production of the SX4 sedan, and is offering handsome discounts on the sedan to clear existing stocks before launching the Ciaz model.
The decrease in demand for the SX4 sedan, massive stocks and the arrival of new model has pushed the car manufacturer in India to offer hefty discounts. Maruti Suzuki India is offering a big discount of Rs. 1.17 laks. This includes a cash discount of up to Rs. 50,000, exchange bonus of Rs. 35,000 and an excise duty benefit of Rs. 32,000. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is expected to go on sale during festive season (September-Oct) and thus the carmaker is aiming to clear the existing stocks of the SX4. Unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the Ciaz sedan measures 4,545mm in length which makes it longer than its closest rival- the Honda City. The company has given special attention to the interiors of this sedan which offers excellent leg, head and shoulder room.
Under the hood, the Maruti Ciaz will be powered by the same 1.6-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engine. Both the engines will be paired to a five-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol version will also feature the CVT gearbox.
