Honda has recently discontinued the Accord luxury sedan from the Indian car market. Now, the company is planning to launch the new generation Accord in the country. At the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, Honda displayed the hybrid version of this sedan; however, the company hasn’t revealed much about the launch and drivetrain.
According to the AutoCar, the new generation Accord will be smaller than its predecessor. The company will offer smaller wheelbase to further enhance the driveability of the sedan. However, Honda’s “Man Maximum Machine Minimum” philosophy will result into a spacious cabin. The new Accord will carries over the traditional approach of offering comfortable and spacious cabin. On styling front, the vehicle will get more compact look at the front which offers the family look. The company will offer an all-new interior with lot more gizmos on offer to play.
The new Honda Accord is likely to be powered by the same 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder engine that produces 177bhp. It is expected that Honda will also launch the diesel version of the sedan which will be powered by the 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine that powers the Honda CR-V. This engine is capable of developing 118bhp of top power and 300Nm of peak torque, which is pretty impressive.
