Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is all prepared to launch the new-generation Dzire in the third week of May 2017. While the launch is few weeks away, the company has silently introduced the new Maruti Dzire Tour in the country. Interestingly, the Indo-Japanese carmaker has dropped the ‘Swift Dzire Tour’ name and opted the ‘Dzire Tour’.
Based on the second-generation Dzire, the 2017 Maruti Dzire Tour is being offered in petrol and diesel variants priced at Rs 5.24 lakh and Rs 5.99 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. The company is also offering a discount up to Rs 40,000 on the sedan’s new cab version. Under driver cum owner (DCO) scheme, buyers can avail a benefit of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 on diesel and petrol models respectively. In an exchange offer (for less than 7 years old car), one can avail a discount of Rs 15,000. There is also a consumer benefit of Rs 15,000 only on diesel model. The 2017 Dzire Tour is essentially a stripped-down version of the current Swift Dzire. Face of the car is styled with a swept back halogen headlamps, a black plastic grille and bumper embellishers. Styling elements such as silver steel wheels, body-painted A-pillar and black ORVMs distinguish its side profile. The new Maruti Dzire Tour comes in a choice of three colour schemes – White, Black and Silver.
On the contrary, the cabin looks exactly same as the outgoing version. The car has dual-tone beige and black interior theme (for the first time) with subtle faux wood trim. There is wood trim garnish on the dashboard and door cards and beige fabric upholstery. The list of feature is same as the regular model. Though, it gets power window controls and an MID. No mechanical changes have been made under the hood. The 2017 Maruti Dzire Tour continues to come with 1.3 DDiS diesel and 1.2-litre petrol engine. It’s the first time the Dzire cab version gets petrol engine. While the diesel motor makes 74bhp and 190Nm, the petrol mill returns a top power of 83.14bhp against 115Nm. Performing transmission duties on the tour is the same 5-speed manual gearbox.
In India, the new Maruti Dzire Tour will face challenge from the newly-launched Hyundai Xcent Prime.
