We reported earlier that the long-awaited Mahindra XUV700 7-seater SUV is expected to be launched on Independence Day, 2021. The SUV is most likely to make global debut in the end of July 2021. The company has already started teasing the new model. In a series of videos, Mahindra has revealed top 4 features of the soon-to-be-launched XUV700 7-seater SUV.
1. Smart Door Handles
The teaser video reveals that the new XUV700 comes equipped with the smart door handles. The smart door handles automatically pops out when the SUV is unlocked through the key or by touching the request sensor placed on the door. The door handle automatically goes back inside when the car is locked.
2. Personalised Safety Alert System
The teaser reveals that the new Mahindra XUV700 has personalized safety alerts. It alerts the driver if he/she overspeed. The alert comes in the form of customised voice of driver’s loved one. This surely an interesting features, which improves the safety of occupants.
3. Segment-largest Panoramic Sunroof
The teaser reveals that the Mahindra XUV700 comes equipped with segment-largest panoramic sunroof measuring 1360mm X 870mm. The video teaser has a caption that reads “A sunroof so large, you might think you are in a convertible. Hello largest-in-segment Skyroof.”
4. Automatic Booster Headlamps
The new Mahindra XUV700 comes with interesting safety features including the new ‘Auto Booster Headlamps‘. The teaser reveals that if the XUV700 SUV crosses 80kmph while driving at night, it automatically switches on extra lights for better visibility. This feature will improve the overall safety of the car and passengers during night driving.
The new XUV700 will be the segment-first model to offer Level 1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which offers features like adaptive cruise control, drowsiness detection, blindspot detection, autonomous braking and lane-leep assist. The SUV will get several advanced features such as connected car tech, wireless charging pod, dual-zone climate control, electronic parking brake with Auto hold, push start/stop button, keyless entry and many more.
The new XUV700 will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0L mStallion turbocharged petrol and a 2.2L turbocharged diesel. While the former can produce up to 188bhp and 380Nm, the oil burner is likely to offer around 185bhp of power. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The SUV could also receive a mild hybrid system.
