Skoda Kushaq 1.0L Version Deliveries Begin Across India

Czech automaker, Skoda has commenced deliveries of the Kushaq mid-sized SUV across India. The company has only started delivering the 1.0L version of the SUV, while the Skoda Kushaq 1.5L turbo versions will be made available from the first half of August 2021.

Interested buyers can pre-book the Kushaq 1.5L version online or via authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. The SUV is available in 3 trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style. The Kushaq 1.0L is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 15.79 lakh, while the 1.5L version is offered in two variants – Style MT & Style AT – priced at Rs 16.19 lakh and Rs 17.59 lakh respectively.

Skoda Kushaq Bookings

The Kushaq’s 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 113bhp of power and 178Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo engine churns out 147bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

The Skoda Kushaq 1.0L manual version is claimed to return 17.88kmpl of mileage, while the 1.0L AT returns an ARAI certified fuel economy of 15.78kmpl. The company hasn’t released the fuel efficiency of the Kushaq 1.5L version. The Kushaq 1.0L MT version is more fuel efficient than the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.

The Skoda Kushaq mid-sized SUV is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB AO IN platform, which also underpins the soon-to-be-launched VW Taigun. In fact, the upcoming Skoda Slavia mid-sized sedan and the VW mid-sized Sedan will be based on the same platform. The SUV is equipped with a free-standing 10-inch touchscreen with VW Group’s new ‘Play’ infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and has in-built apps, connected car technology, a ‘Valet’ mode and in-car Wi-Fi.

It comes equipped with features like a 6-speaker music system with a 50W subwoofer, an electric sunroof, a cooled glovebox, ambient lighting, LED DRLs, LED tail-lamps and dual-tone 17-inch diamond cut alloys. The SUV gets electronic stability control (ESC) as standard.
