Mahindra XUV700 7-seater SUV will be launched before Diwali 2018.

Mahindra & Mahindra has recently showcased the long-awaited 7-seater premium SUV – codenamed Y400 – at the annual general meeting. The company will launch this premium SUV in the Indian market before Diwali, 2018. Ahead of the launch, clear exterior and interior pictures of the SUV have hit the web-world. Likely to be called Mahindra XUV700, the SUV was spotted standing next to XUV500 at the Marazzo’s launch event.

Set to be Mahindra’s flagship full-sized SUV, the Mahindra XUV700 is basically the re-badged SsangYong’s global SUV – Rexton. To be positioned above XUV500, the upcoming 7-seater SUV will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the upcoming Honda CR-V. The latest images show production ready model wrapped in white paint. The SUV was not wearing any variant details and the Mahindra badging in the front was also covered.

While the overall design and styling is similar to the global Rexton, Mahindra has made some changes to give it a family look. It comes with a new vertically-slated grille and slightly modified bumper. Engineers have also tweaked the suspension setup to suit Indian road conditions. It is expected that the new XUV700 will be cheaper than the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. We believe that the new model could be priced in the range of Rs 22 lakh – Rs 28 lakh.
