Mahindra XUV300 Rally-Spec Model Revealed
The new rally-spec Mahindra XUV300 will be the brand’s challenger for the 2019 Indian National Rally Championship
Mahindra Adventure has revealed the new rally-spec XUV300, which will be the brand’s challenger for the 2019 Indian National Rally Championship (INRC). The new Mahindra XUV300 rally-spec model will replace the Super XUV500 that raced for the Mahindra Adventure for several years. Mahindra Adventure has successfully completed the first shakedown of the rally-spec XUV300 in Coimbatore. The company set to face the first round of the INRC in Chennai scheduled on June 28, 2019.
Two front-wheel-drive XUV300s will be fielded by Mahindra Adventure for the Indian National Rally Championship. These SUVs have been rally-prepped by Arka Motorsport. Gaurav Gill will drive the petrol version of the XUV300, which is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine. The second model will be a diesel car, powered by a 1.5-litre turbo unit and will be drive by the Amittarajit Ghosh.

The diesel engine will remain largely unchanged, except for the engine remap. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine comes with majority of the changes and is fitted with a bigger turbocharger, a reworked intake and exhaust system, etc. The SUVs will continue with the stock 6-speed manual gearbox. While the Gaurav Gill’s car will ride on JK tyres, while the Ghos’s car will be fitted with MRF tyres. The rally-spec Mahindra XUV300 gets a different paint scheme, new alloy wheels, bucket rally seats and new steering wheel. The rear seats have been removed to achieve lower weight.
