Kia XCeed Awarded For Its Design – Red Dot Design Award 2020
Kia XCeed, the urban crossover from the Korean carmaker, has received the prestigious ‘Red Dot Award – Best of the Best’ in the Product Design category. It’s the 25th Red Dot award received by Kia Motors. With this achievement, the XCeed becomes the fourth member of the Ceed model family to receive this accolade. Models such as Ceed, Ceed Sportswagon and ProCeed have already been recognized for their design and received esteemed global awards. For people not in the know, the Kia XCeed had bagged 2020 iF award, 2019 ‘Golden Steering Wheel’ award and 2019 Urban Car award in Women’s World Car of the year contest.
The urban crossover is claimed to offer practicality of the compact SUV and engaging handling of a hatchback. Globally, the 2020 Kia XCeed is offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines including a 1.0L T-GDi petrol (120PS.172Nm), a 1.4L T-GDi (140PS/242Nm), a 1.6L T-GDi (204PS/265Nm) and a 1.6L Smartstream (115PS/136PS). Save for the 1.0L T-GDi petrol motor, all engines are available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox option. The 1.0L gasoline unit comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. The Idle Stop & GO (ISG) technology is standard across the crossover lineup.
Some of its key features include UVO Connect telematics system with Kia Live services, an optional 10.25-inch TFT LCD widescreen, an optional 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a JBL premium sound system with Clari-Fi technology, heated electric folding door mirrors, dual-zone AC unit, heated windscreen and steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats and many more.
