Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty Two commands a waiting period of over 6 months

Classic Legends, Mahindra’s subsidiary, has officially confirmed that delivery of Jawa Classic and Jawa 42 motorcycles will commence from June 29, 2019. Bookings for the motorcycles have already been commenced at a token amount of Rs 5,000. The new motorcycles have received an overwhelming response from buyers, and currently command a waiting period of over 6 months for those who have booked the motorcycle in December 2018. In fact, the new motorcycles have already been sold out till September 29, 2019 and bookings have also been closed. Dealers are taking bookings for the bikes, but these bikes will be delivered post September 2019.

The company has also confirmed that it will launch the dual-channel ABS version of the bikes. The addition of dual-channel ABS and rear disc brake will cost Rs 9,000 extra over the standard model. Dual channel equipped Jawa and Jawa forty two variants will take even longer time to be delivered. The Jawa bikes with dual-channel ABS will hit showrooms from July 2019. What’s interesting is that Jawa has joined hands with Mahindra First Choice, which will enable customers to sell their older bikes to gain attractive exchange offers. The standard Jawa and Jawa forty two comes equipped with single-channel ABS and a single-disc brake on the front wheel and a drum brake on the rear wheel. The Jawa motorcycles are powered by a 293cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that’s compliant to BSVI emission norms. This engine is capable of producing 27bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. While the Jawa Classic is available in three paint schemes – Black, Marron and Grey, the Jawa 42 comes in six shades – Comet Red, Nebula Blue, Galactic Green, Starlight Blue Lumos and Halley’ Teal.
