Scorpio N Global NCAP

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Scorpio N was recently tested by the world’s vehicle safety watchdog – Global NCAP. The SUV was tested under the new safety test protocols that came into effect in 2022. The Mahindra Scorpio N achieved 5 star safety rating for adult occupant protection and 4 star for child occupant protection. It scored 20.25 points out of 34  points and 28.94 points out of 48 points respectively. The SUV model lineup comes with the 2.2L turbo diesel and 2.0L turbo petrol engines making 175bhp with 400Nm and 203bhp with 380Nm respectively. More details here…

Mahindra XUV700

New Mahindra XUV700 GNCAP 5 stars

Mahindra XUV700 was awarded with 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP in November 2021. The SUV achieved 5 stars for adult occupant protection and 5 stars for child occupant protection. The tested model was equipped with dual airbags, Isofix mounts. Its body shell and footwell area were rated as stable and capable of withstanding further loadings. The XUV700 comes with the 2.2L mHawk diesel and 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol engine options. The oil burner makes power worth 155bhp with 360Nm and 185bhp with 420Nm (MT)/450Nm (AT). Mahindra XUV300

Mahindra XUV300 Global NCAP

The Mahindra XUV300 was subjected to the Global NCAP crash test in January 2020. The subcompact secured 5 stars in adult occupant protection and 4 stars for child occupant protection. It got 16.42 points out of 17 points and 37.44 points out of 49 points respectively. The model’s structure and footwell were rated as stable. The XUV300 offered good head, neck and knee protection for adult. It provided good protection for the front passenger, which it was adequate for the driver. At present, the Mahindra XUV300 comes with the 117bhp, 1.5L diesel and 130bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol engines. More details here…

Tata Nexon Global NCAP

The Tata Nexon is the top-selling diesel SUV in the country. Interestingly, it’s the first ever Made-in-India car to received a 5 star Global NCAP safety rating with 16.06 points out of 17 points. It scored 5 stars for adult protection and 3 star for child occupant protection. The Nexon model lineup is available with the 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engine making 110PS with 170Nm and 110PS with 260Nm respectively. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are on offer. Toyota Fortuner

2021 Toyota Fortuner Crash Test

With total score of 87.46 points, the Toyota Fortuner was awarded a 5-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash test. The SUV secured 34.03 points out of 36 for adult occupant protection, 43.38 points out of 49 points for child occupant protection, 13 points out of 18 in the safety assist technologies. In the front and side impact tests, it got 14.53 points and 16 points respectively. Powering the new Toyota Fortuner is a 2.7L petrol and a 2.8L diesel engine returning a claimed power of 166bhp with 245Nm and 204bhp with 420Nm. More details here…
