Japanese automaker, Toyota will announce the prices of the much-awaited Innova Hycross in January 2023. Interested buyers can book the new hybrid MPV online or at authorised dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 50,000. The company will also re-introduce the Innova Crysta with some changes, which will target the fleet owners. Not just Innova Hycross, Toyota is also preparing to launch an all-new SUV Coupe in the market.
Maruti Suzuki will introduce an all-new YTB SUV Coupe at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. It will be based on Suzuki’s lightweight HEARTECT platform that underpins Baleno hatchback. The new model will share styling cues from the Futuro e concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. Similar to Hyryder & Grand Vitara, Toyota will also launch its own version of the Maruti YTB in our market.
In fact, Toyota has started testing the new SUV Coupe on the Indian market. The new SUV Coupe is expected to share the styling cues from the Yaris Cross, which is on sale in international markets. The Yaris Cross has also been caught testing on the Indian roads. The new model will have a raked window line with a shorter rear quarter glass, angular roof-mounted spoiler and a longer boot lid compared to Maruti’s YTB SUV Coupe.
The front fascia of the new Toyota SUV Coupe is likely to share styling cues from the new Hyryder and the Glanza. It will have differently styled alloy wheels. The rear design is likely to have similarities with the global Yaris Cross. In terms of features, the SUV Coupe is likely to get a 360 degree camera, a HUD or Heads-Up Display, an electric sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, voice commands, and automatic air conditioning.
The new Toyota SUV Coupe will be powered by Suzuki’s 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Boosterjet turbo petrol engine with a mild hybrid tech. This engine is likely to produce around 100bhp and 150Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer. It could also get a 1.2L DualJet petrol engine with manual and AMT unit.
