Riding on the huge success of Hyundai Grand i10, the South Korean auto major is now all set to launch a new compact sedan to rival Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and Honda Amaze. The compact sedan will be based on the BA platform, on which the Grand i10 too is built. The car will also share several parts, components and interiors with the Grand i10 hatchback.

The Grand i10 sedan has been spotted testing in India, which also reveal so many things about the car. The compact sedan will carry the same beige and black dual-color theme with brushed-aluminium AC vents, leather and matte plastic finish steering wheel, rear AC vents, cup and bottle holders and several other equipments. What additionally the sedan will offer to its buyers is more space for rear passengers and added boot to provide more luggage area.

The Grand i10 sedan will also share the engine options with the hatchabck. The petrol version will sport the 1.2-litre Kappa2 petrol mill that produces a maximum power output of 81.9bhp, while the Grand i10 sedan diesel will have the 1.1-litre 70bhp diesel mill. The sedan will also be offered with the 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission gearboxes, found in the hatchback. However, the diesel version of the sedan like its hatchback sibling will only have a five-speed manual transmission.
