The much-anticipated Honda Civic sedan will officially go on sale in India in March 2019. Though the exact launch date is yet to be announced, media reports claim that it could go on sale on March 7, 2019. Bookings for the sedan have already been commenced at a token amount of Rs 50,000.

The 2019 Honda Civic will be available in 2 engine options – 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel and a 1.8-litre i-VTEC naturally aspirated petrol. While the former is good for 118bhp and 300Nm of torque, the petrol engine produces 139bhp and 174Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 7-speed CVT automatic with paddle shifters (Petrol Only) and a 6-speed manual gearbox (Diesel Only). The Honda Civic 2019 is claimed to be the most fuel efficient car in its league. While the diesel model returns an ARAI certified mileage of 26.8kmpl, the petrol engine offers 16.5kmpl. The India-spec Honda Civic comes with slightly different dimensions than the foreign model. It measures 4,656mm, 1,799mm, 1433mm in length, width and height respectively. The wheelbase stands at 2,700mm, while the fuel tank has a capacity of 47-litres. The sedan comes with boot space of 430-litres.
In terms of features, the sedan gets a 7-inch digital instrument console, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, dual-zone climate control, electric sunroof etc. The sedan also gets several safety features like automatic brake hold, lane watch assist, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, six airbags, reverse camera, etc.
