Honda City outsells Maruti Ciaz in November

Honda Cars India’s most successful product- the City sedan has again become the top-selling product in its league. The production constraint problem had affected the sales of City last month, which allows the Maruti Ciaz to gain the pole position in the highly competitive mid-sized segment. Now, the company has started the new production unit at its second manufacturing unit in Tapukara, Rajasthan.

Honda managed to sell 7252 units of the City sedan in November as against 5120 units in October, while the Ciaz sales stand at 5840 units. Honda Cars India has registered a positive growth of 64 per cent in November 2014. The company sold 15,236 units in November, 2014 as against 9,332 units in the corresponding month last year.

Speaking on the company’s sales performance, Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “We continue to witness strong demand for all our products across markets. We are aggressively expanding our dealer network to reach out to more customers and recently we reached the milestone of 200 dealer network in the country.”

The Honda City saloon is available in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the oil burner is the 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit producing 100PS, the petrol motor is the tried & trusted 1.5-litre i-VTEC unit that is good for 119PS.
