American automaker, Ford’s top-selling product in the Indian car market is now available through Canteen Stores Department (CSD) for Defense personnel and Centre Police Canteen (CPC). Other than EcoSport, Ford India sells Figo, Classic and Fiesta sedan through CSD outlets.
Service personnel and ex-service men can buy this popular sub-4 metre SUV and gain usual benefits including sales tax exemption or discount. Adding to it, the company has announced that deliveries for the bookings of the crossover through CSD and CPC on priority and availability basis.
The Ford EcoSport is offered in two petrol and one diesel fuel options. The petrol versions of the compact crossover includes a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder unit that produces 112PS and 140Nm of torque, and a 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged unit that is good for 125PS and 170Nm of torque. The oil burner is the 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit that churns out a maximum power output of 91PS and 204Nm of torque. A five-speed manual gearbox comes as standard, while the six-speed dual-clutch automatic comes as optional with petrol unit.
Ford India has already achieved the 1 lakh production milestone (export & domestic wholesales) in the country.
