Ford, the American automaker has updated its popular SYNC infotainment system in India. This SYNC AppLink is now available with five new applications out of which, four are are new additions and one is the updated version of an existing app. SYNC AppLink allows drivers to access and control compatible smartphone applications through voice commands or the in-vehicle touchscreen. The new applications added to the SYNC includes music streaming service provider Hungama, news aggregator InShorts, weather forecast service provider AccuWeather and parking locating app Pparke. Adding to it, the SYNC AppLink also gets an updated MapMyIndia app that now includes new voice and textual directions to a destination of choice.
The SYNC is Ford’s connectivity & infotainment system that allows customers to use voice commands to make calls, play music and get useful information about their vehicle. The InShorts app on the Ford SYNC’s will read news in an easy to comprehend format. Ford owners will simply have to use voice commands to get their customized news feed to stay up to date with the latest developments in the world. On the other hand, the updated version of MapMyIndia application helps navigate to any destination using spoken and textual driving directions. This prevents driver from looking at their smartphone while driving.
The AccuWeather app is also available with SYNC AppLink, which provides accurate local weather information and updates. The PParke app, on the other side, enables Ford owners to not just identify the closest parking lot but also provides full address, distance from the current location, number of parking spots available and the price to park.
