Ford India has reduced the prices of the Aspire compact sedan by up to Rs. 91,000. While the prices of the base ‘Ambiente’ trim remain unchanged, the mid-level and high-end variants get cheaper by up to Rs. 91,000. The Trend petrol and diesel trims are now cheaper by Rs. 25,000, while the Titanium and Titanium+ variants are now cheaper by Rs. 91,000 and Rs. 65,000 respectively.
The Aspire Trend petrol and diesel are priced at Rs. 5.76 lakh and Rs. 6.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The Titanium+ petrol is priced at Rs. 6.80 lakh while the diesel version is tagged at Rs. 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). As a reminder, Ford has dropped the Figo moniker from Fiao Aspire, and the vehicle is now only get the Aspire badge. Besides this, nothing has changed in the car as it continues to remain one the most powerful and fuel-efficient cars in its category. Based on Ford’s Kinetic design philosophy, the Ford Aspire looks more like a squeezed version of Fiesta. On the front fascia, it features a chrome clad Aston Martin-inspired hexagonal grille, large sweptback headlamps, prominent bonnet creases and swept-back windshield. The side profile of the sub-4 metre sedan is highlighted by its 14-inches 7-spoke alloy wheels. The rear gets a flat boot cover festooned with ample of chrome. Other noteworthy features include larger doors with sufficient glass area, smart boomerang shaped taillights, shark-fin shaped radio antenna, and a chromed diffuser on the rear bumper.
The compact sedan is available with choice of seven colours – Ruby Red, Sparkling Gold, Oxford White, Deep Impact Blue, Tuxedo Black, Ingot Silver and Smoke Grey. Coming to dimensions, the Figo Aspire measures 3, 995mm in length, 1, 695mm in width, 1, 525mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,491mm. The compact sedan weighs 995kgs – 1, 048kgs that vary model-wise. It has a ground clearance of 174mm, and turning radius of 4.9 meters. The interiors look quite inspired by the EcoSport.
The Ford Aspire is available with three engine options – a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol, and a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol and a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel. While the automatic petrol variant of the car comes with the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol (110bhp, 136Nm) mill, manual variants get the 1.2-litre engine (88bhp, 112Nm). The automatic transmission is the same 6-speed, dual-clutch that does duty in the EcoSport. The diesel variants, on the other hand, drive power from a 1.5-litre TDCi engine that is good for 99bhp and 215Nm.
