BS6 Skoda Rapid Petrol, Matte Concept, Monte Carlo Unveiled
At the Auto Expo 2020, Skoda Auto unveiled a range of new models including the all-new Karoq SUV, Vision IN SUV concept and new Superb facelift along with Kodiaq SUV and Rapid sedan with a new BS6-compliant petrol engines. The carmaker also announced prices of the performance-oriented Skoda Octavia RS 245. The pavilion is also graced by the Skoda Rapid Matte concept and Rapid Monte Carlo Edition.
Talking about the Rapid Matte concept, the model has a matte black finish with contrast red highlights and newly-designed blacked out alloy wheels. You can notice the red inserts on the ORVMs and a red strip running across its side profile. The contrast red shade is also seen on the brake calipers.
At the rear end, the Rapid Matte concept features a red lip garnish, a red trunk spoiler and a rear diffuser. Sporty theme continues inside the cabin. The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Edition, which is already on sale, gets newly-designed alloy wheels. The carmaker has also revealed that the BS6 Skoda Rapid is now available with a new touchscreen infotainment system along with the BS6-compliant powertrain. The sedan’s updated model is powered by a 1.0L, 3-cylinder TSI turbo petrol engine pushing out power worth 110bhp.
The BS6 Skoda Rapid is likely to receive a minor price hike. It might go on sale in coming weeks. The sedan will continue to take on Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
