The performance-oriented Skoda Octavia RS 245 has finally been launched in the Indian market. Launched as Completely Built Unit (CBU), the new hot sedan is priced at Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Only 200 units of the Octavia RS 245 has been alotted for the Indian market.

The performance sedan is launched at the ongoing Delhi Auto Expo 2020. The company has also showcased the Vision IN SUV concept, Karoq 5-seater premium SUV, Superb facelift and the Rapid facelift.

Skoda Octavia 245 RS Specs

The new Skoda Octavia RS 245 is based on the current generation model on sale in India. Czech automaker will introduce the next-gen Octavia in the country in the second half of this year.

Powering the new Skoda Octavia RS 245 is a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine, which is tuned to offer 245PS of power and 370Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch (DSG) automatic gearbox. It also has limited slip differential to ensure balanced power delivery.

The Skoda Octavia RS 245 is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 6.6 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. In terms of styling, the RS 245 is an aggressive looking and beefed up version of the stock Octavia.

It features sportier bumper with larger air intakes, larger alloy wheels and a faux diffuser at the back. The sedan gets split headlamp design at the front with LED DRLs along with a black grille that has vRS badging. At the back, the sedan gets dual trapezoidal exhaust along with tailgate mounted spoiler, and vRS badging on the boot lid.

The Octavia RS 245 has stiffer suspension for better handling. It also gets improved braking system. The company has reduced the ground clearance of the car, while the wheels are wrapped with performance tyres to meet the needs of a hot sedan.

Inside the cabin, the Skoda Octavia RS 245 gets all-black treatment with sporty Alcantara seats with contrasting red stitching and vRS badging. It sports flat-bottom steering wheel, a digital instrument console, an updated 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, etc.
