BS6-Ready Honda Activa 125 FI To Launch On 11th September
In June 2019, Honda 2Wheelers unveiled its first BS6-compliant scooter for the Indian market – Honda Activa 125. Now, the two-wheeler maker has announced that the BS6-ready Activa 125 will go on sale on coming 11th September.
The new BS6-compliant Honda Activa 125 derives its power from a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel injected engine that has been calibrated to generate slightly less power to meet the Bharat Stage VI emission norms. While the BS4-compliant motor makes 8.63PS with 10.54Nm of torque, the BS6-compliant model is reported to push out a peak power of 8.29PS at 6,500rpm.
Though, the new Honda Activa 125 is 10% more fuel economical than the existing one, thanks to its an idle stop system and alternating current generator (ACG). Features such as a lightweight crankshaft and piston further enhance its performance. Read – Honda Forza 300 Scooter Might Come To India
Interestingly, the BS6-ready Honda Activa 125 will be the first vehicle in its category to feature a side stand indicator with engine inhibitor. It also gets a new semi-digital console displaying information such as average fuel efficiency and range. The scooter has 4-in-1 ignition switch and an external fuel lid.
Compared to the existing model, the new Honda Activa 125 is 36mm longer, 3mm wider and 19mm taller. It overall length, width and height now stand at 1,850mm, 707mm and 1,170mm respectively. Subtle design changes have also been made to the scooter. The new Honda Activa 125 features a new LED headlamp with reflectors, a new taillamp and chrome inserts on side panels. The tail section design and grab rails have been carried over from the current model.
