India’s First BS6-Ready Honda Activa 125 Scooter Unveiled
The BS6-ready Honda Activa 125 will go on sale by the end of this year.
Honda 2Wheelers has finally unveiled India’s first BS6-ready scooter – the Honda Activa 125 FI. Touted as “A Quiet Revolution”, the scooter will see a release by the end of this year. Once launched, the new Honda Activa 125 BS6 will face challenge from scooters like TVS NTorq 125, Hero Maestro Edge, Aprilia SR 125 and Suzuki Burgman Street 125.
The Honda Activa 125 BS6 features the same 124.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which is now benefited with the company’s PGM-FI (Programmed fuel injection) technology. Its power and torque outputs stand at 8.52bhp at 6500rpm and 10.54Nm at 5000rpm respectively. The Activa 125 BS6 also gets Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power (ePS) system that claims to maximize efficient combustion and optimize energy output. The scooter comes with a CVT gearbox.
Design and styling of the new Honda Activa 125 BS6 looks quite similar to the previous model. Though, it gets a newly-designed LED headlamp, a side stand indicator and an external fuel filler cap. The scooter also comes with a new instrument console that displays distance-to-empty and real-time fuel efficiency. It also comes with a digi-analouge instrumentation and idle-start stop system. Similar to the Activa 5G, the new BS6-ready Honda Activa 125 uses telescopic front forks suspension for performing damping duties. The scooter gets disc and drum brakes at the front and rear axles respectively. The Combi Braking System (CBS) is standard across the scooter lineup.
Buyers will have seven colour options to chose from – Majestic Brown Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Heavy Grey Metallic, Black and Midnight Blue Metallic. Honda 2Wheelers is also offering the segment-best warranty period of 6 years (3 years standard + 3 years optional extended) with the new Activa 125 BS6.
