All New Hyundai AH2 (New Santro) – What It Will Look Like

Hyundai AH2 Rendering

The rendered picture reveals a possible design of the hatchback that seems to carry forward the Santro’s tall boy design.

Hyundai India has confirmed that it will announce the name of its upcoming small car (codenamed AH2) in early October, 2018. While the official name is likely to be revealed in the first week, the launch will happen by the mid of the month. The carmaker will conduct a marketing campaign for the name of the vehicle. The new Hyundai hatchback will revive the iconic Santro brand in the Indian market.

While the launch of the Hyundai AH2 is months away, its new digital rendering has surfaced on the web. The rendered picture reveals a possible design of the hatchback that seems to carry forward the Santro’s tall boy design. Upfront, the car features sweptback two-tier headlamps, the signature cascading grille and fog lamp assembly integrated between the headlights and the faux outer vents. Moving to the side, the Hyundai AH2 sports mildly pronounced creases falling towards the rear end. It also gets large windows. The top-spec variant of the hatchback is likely to get alloy wheels and ORVM integrated turn indicators. Dimensionally, the AH2 is likely to fit between the Eon and the Grand i10.

Reports in media suggest that new Hyundai AH2 hatchback will underpin the company’s HA platform, which is already used on the old Hyundai i10. The South Korean carmaker has confirmed that its new small car will debut with the company’s first AMT (automatic manual transmission), which is reported to be called ‘Smart Auto’.

Official engine details of the Hyundai AH2 will be revealed near its launch. Though, it is likely to come with a 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder petrol sourced from the previous generation Hyundai i10. Rumour also has it that the company might also offer an 800cc, 3 cylinder petrol engine on the hatchback. Check Out – Upcoming Hyundai Cars In India
